Moving to Florida
Yes, it is true, my family and I are moving to Florida, and to prevent us from having to explain WHY a thousand different times, we felt it best to just write a simple explanation here for those interested in knowing…
I was very analytical in my approach and spent years researching before finally deciding on Boise, Idaho, based on a set of metrics and an objective scoring system, which I devised for finding the optimal location for our purpose(s). When we arrived, we couldn't be more happy. We loved Boise and we loved Idaho. It was a night and day difference from California.
In Idaho, people were friendly, there was no traffic, the cost of living was incredibly low, the air quality was excellent, the city was "green and clean," and people were generally conservative in their ideology and lifestyle. In short, it was a little slice of heaven and it was aptly referred to as, "God's country."
In fact, in 2012, after Obama was re-elected, our Governor, Butch Otter, actually rammed through Obamacare here in Idaho at the state level. In fact, Idaho was the only Republican state in the country that did so. We found that our entire Republican delegation to Congress was likewise leftist and our Republican legislature was hopelessly useless and actually quite leftist in its actions. In fact, besides gun laws and homeschooling laws, it turned out that there was nothing uniquely conservative about Idaho's laws AT ALL.
Despite having a completely Republican House of Representatives, Senate, and having all statewide offices held by Republicans, almost completely for decades—Idaho Republicans couldn't and wouldn't pass any conservative legislation about basically anything that is actually on the published Republican platform.
In Idaho we have high personal income taxes, property taxes, personal property taxes (on equipment that you own and not just your house), and even a grocery tax! These are things that most of our neighboring states don't have and not even California taxed groceries! And of course, Idaho Republicans have been hopelessly useless against abortion and we've had to stand by and watch as Planned Parenthood built an abortion "supermill" right here in Meridian.
There is also a significantly high regulatory environment for businesses. I mean, cosmeticians here in Idaho need more training hours than policemen and you must be licensed for practically everything. I could go on and on, but the point is that we determined quickly that while Idaho was still a great place to live and raise a family, and the people were generally wonderful, the Idaho government was total trash and that meant that Idaho was on a dangerous path.
And I was not alone—conservatives rose up all around the state and challenged every leftist Republican in state offices and many, if not most, of the leftist legislators. It was a pretty great time. We had a slate of right wing conservative Constitutionalists who were set and poised to make Idaho a true bastion of liberty and prosperity for generations to come!
Then the election took place and not a single conservative won a seat. We were left stuck with the statist RINOs who continued to control and dominate, led and controlled themselves by our local, evil, special interest lobbying firm called IACI (Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry).
Admittedly, that election was a turning point in my heart and mind regarding Idaho. At the time I did not assume there was anything fraudulent going on in the election. I just concluded that this was the true makeup of Idaho's electorate. That Idahoans were simply Republicans by culture and not conservatives by principle. Idahoans were statists at heart who loved a nanny state and were complacent and compliant sheep who would vote for anyone who promised them good things and spouted off conservative platitudes, as long as they had an R next to their name.
It was an ugly truth I had to accept, and we just chalked it up to being part of life and a battle that we would have to continue to fight.
We made lots of great friends and by God's grace we were prosperous in every way. We still loved Idaho and we loved what it had to offer as a place to live.
Then something outrageous happened…
Anyhow, I don't have to tell you that within short order, everything in America changed. The economy exploded. Consumer confidence soared. Everybody started getting jobs. We stopped going to wars.
To be simple and frank, in those Trump years, we literally had world peace and world prosperity. Literally and statistically. Everyone in the world had more money than ever, and there were fewer wars, with the USA not involving itself in any war under Trump's command.
Fortunately or unfortunately this meant my businesses exploded. I say "unfortunately" because I started to focus all my time and effort on my businesses because they were soaring right along with the economy, and this caused me to virtually ignore the cultural and political condition of our state. Truth be told—nobody pays much attention to government or culture when times are great and money is flowing.
Ultimately, I ended up changing my business model to focus mostly on live events that we hosted monthly around the country. Additionally, my children were growing up and my daughters were now old enough to work with me professionally and accompany me on business trips.
This made the value of property start to go up big time. Every year thereafter it got more and more expensive and more and more crowded. It got so ridiculous, that today, Boise Idaho is one of the most upside down real estate marketplaces in the history of America. And by "upside down" I mean the statistical ratio between the average salary compared to the average sale price of a home. So I'm not talking emotions, I'm talking statistics!
I mean, we've got 900 square foot cottages being sold for $400,000. It's ridiculous! The truth be told is that keeping my kids in this type of environment is akin to consigning them to a perpetual lifelong curse. Imagine being 20 years old, newly married, and burdened with a $3,000/mo mortgage. Or worse, a one bedroom apartment that you will never own for $2,000/mo. Really? Really Idaho? I could not shake the feeling of discomfort for what I'd be doing to my children and grandchildren by cursing them with this type of culture, environment, and financial burden.
Then came the great scam of 2020. And BOOM, Idahoans true colors began to show. And there was no denying what was before us. Idaho was a state full of tyrants in power, with pitiful and compliant sheep in the electorate. And not just pitiful and compliant, but downright hostile to those who would not be compliant as well. COVID put people's hearts on display and Idahoans proved to be worse than simple "Republican sheep," they demonstrated themselves to be, in their true hearts, "wicked statists."
I wish that it were not true. I wish my commentary and observations were extreme and lopsided. I wish that I could say I'm just blowing things out or proportion. But I'm not.
We even have proof, through documents obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request, that the local authorities conspired with the FBI's joint task force on domestic terrorism (no, I'm not joking) to storm into our own Easter service in April 2020, being held in the warehouse of our friend, Ammon Bundy, to arrest the "leaders" of the event. That would have been me and Ammon. I was the preacher preaching that day. Fortunately it didn't happen for reasons that would take too long to explain here…
But by this time, everything we once loved about Idaho was gone. All of its charm had disappeared.
Needless to say, 2020 was the most financially disastrous year of my life. So I had to really re-think what we wanted to do going forward. Because everything had to change.
Also, my kids are all grown up now. Two of my daughters are married, and my youngest son is already 15. So we don't really need a great place to "raise a family" anymore. We need a great place for my sons and son-in-laws to build their businesses and grow their families. I want to live where my children and grandchildren have the greatest opportunities for prosperity and freedom.
After much prayer, reflection, careful analysis, and additional experience(s), I determined that our main priorities were (not necessarily in order):
1. Finding the most optimal place for our children to build their businesses and life (meaning a strong economy with relatively affordable cost-of-living).
2. Finding the most optimal place in terms of long-term trajectory for maintaining freedom.
Idaho was clearly not this place anymore. But most importantly, to me, the issue is not where Idaho is today, but the path that Idaho is on. In other words, Idaho's trajectory is what disturbs me most. If we are to be wise and prudent men, we must recognize the trajectory and foresee the evil that not only is, but that is coming:
Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
We must be wise like the Bible teaches and look at the trajectory of a state or a culture and avoid it. There is no doubt that Idaho is set to become the next Colorado, Washington, or Oregon. This will be a full-fledged leftist state controlled by leftist, statist interests—whether they be Republican or Democrat. And in less than one generation, all the conservatives in Idaho will either be seeking to flee the state, or just live as disgruntled and oppressed societal paupers—much like the conservatives in Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington today.
But they're both a small price to pay for liberty and the promise of a prosperous future for my children and grandchildren.
And yes, Florida has hurricanes, but nothing that modern construction and infrastructure can't withstand and has been withstanding for decades. Plus, I experienced and lived through a category 4 hurricane last year in Cancun and saw with my own eyes that as long as you're prepared, it's very manageable. Besides, hurricanes don't really affect the interior of Florida—where we have chosen to live.
From an economic perspective, which admittedly is the most important checkbox on our list (since I have 5 children starting 5 new families who I want to be economically successful and prosperous), it has an incredibly diverse economy that is over a trillion dollars on its own. And even with a strong economy, the cost of living is more affordable than Idaho (no grocery tax, affordable energy, and lower housing costs). In fact, Florida has the 4th largest economy of the United States (behind California, New York, and Texas) and it's economy recently eclipsed the economy of the entire country of Mexico! That's right—the 21 million inhabitants of Florida are more economically productive than the 120 million inhabitants of Mexico. Think about that.
It has a vociferous and passionate conservative community that is growing daily. Liberal leftists are leaving in droves.
There is a growing Latino community (not Mexicans, but Cubans, Colombians, Venezuelans, etc.) who are some of the most patriotic right-wing conservatives you've ever met. Sure, you might oppose socialism academically speaking, but these people oppose it because they ESCAPED IT!!! That's a big difference!
There is also actual diversity in the state, which on it's own is not really important, but pragmatically speaking it means that life is more fun and less boring. There is a real night life, incredible food, non-stop events and activities, and most importantly—SCUBA DIVING (most of you know that has been my addiction for the last several years).
The trajectory of the state is the exact opposite of Idaho. Conservatives are moving in, not just "Republicans" but conservatives. And the kind that are moving in are active and passionate. Florida was the home and final resting place for the great Rush Limbaugh. Famously, President Trump and his family all live there. And so do conservative activists like Roger Stone, Dan Bongino, Tucker Carlson, Matt Drudge, and Dr. Joseph Mercola. Even NEWSMAX has its headquarters in Florida! And how can I write this article without mentioning America's Governor, Ron DeSantis! Sure, he'll likely only be Governor until 2026, but it will be a good couple of years. After that, there are several of potential conservative prospects in the Florida State Legislature to fill his shoes.
The economy is robust and diverse with everything from technology, agriculture, tourism, retail, entertainment, construction, and manufacturing. Yes, its famous for tourism and Orlando alone has 18 theme parks (and you thought it was just Disneyworld). Tourism is an incredibly important industry because it means Florida can thrive on its own economy and bring in OUTSIDE dollars into the state from tourists who come literally just to spend money.
Additionally, there is no state income tax. Zero. Let that sink in. And property taxes are some of the lowest in the nation. Overall, Florida ranked #2 for the list of freest states in the nation on the Cato Institute Freedom Index.
Sure, Florida is not perfect, and like I said it has bugs and humidity, but I'll take it over snow, RINOs, and unaffordable housing any day of the week.
In short, the FUTURE of Florida is bright and conservative, where Idaho is destined to become Washington, Oregon, or Colorado in a 5-10 years (probably less). Boise is on course to become the next Portland and quite frankly, Idahoans don't care and mostly welcome it. Idahoans are statists—both Republicans and Democrats. It's just that simple (and sad). (A "statist" is not the same as a "socialist." A statist is someone who sees government as the solution to issues and welcomes increased government control and expansion. Most teachers, police, firefighters, and others who receive government paychecks are commonly statists. And any Republican who is personally enriched by government is always a statist. This is Idaho's problem.)
So yes, we're moving to Florida (my family is all here though I admittedly spend my time residing out of the country), and we invite you to move to Florida also. You will always have an open invitation to fellowship with our family. And it doesn't matter where you move to, since we're moving to central Florida (the Orlando metro area), so we'll be relatively close to you no matter where you live.
So we can fight together to the end. We'll have parties together, host rallies together, protest together, promote truth together, resist tyranny together, promote freedom together, share organically grown food, patronize alternative health clinics, foster homeschooling and private education options, and altogether live the American dream together—free from local, personal, corporate, and governmental tyranny.
Yes, this is a big change from the last time we moved. When we moved to Idaho, I didn't want anybody else moving there. We downplayed it and told people not to come. But times have changed. Things are not the same. 2020 changed everything. We know and recognize that we're safer and better in numbers, but 2020 taught us that it actually matters to be so, and not just to know so. So come on out to Florida and enjoy the heat and the bugs and maybe even get yourself a pet alligator! We'll do it together!
It All Started With Our Move to Idaho in 2011
As most of our closest friends and family know, we decided to move to Idaho in 2011 after I had shut down the church I had been pastoring for nearly a decade. We moved to Idaho with the hope and plan of finding a wonderful place to lay down roots, raise our family, and fulfill the work that God had and would call us to do.I was very analytical in my approach and spent years researching before finally deciding on Boise, Idaho, based on a set of metrics and an objective scoring system, which I devised for finding the optimal location for our purpose(s).
All Was Not Well in God's Country
However, as great as things were, all was not well in God's country. While it was true that most everyone we met was "conservative" and basically everyone was a Republican, we quickly started finding that Idaho government was not very conservative at all.In fact, in 2012, after Obama was re-elected, our Governor, Butch Otter, actually rammed through Obamacare here in Idaho at the state level. In fact, Idaho was the only Republican state in the country that did so. We found that our entire Republican delegation to Congress was likewise leftist and our Republican legislature was hopelessly useless and actually quite leftist in its actions. I could go on and on, but the point is that we determined quickly that while Idaho was still a great place to live and raise a family, and the people were generally wonderful, the Idaho government was total trash and that meant that Idaho was on a dangerous path.
Then Came the 2014 Election
After seeing all of the garbage taking place in my brand new home state, and watching the backlash amongst Idaho conservatives for the Governor implementing Obamacare (which you may or may not remember was the BIGGEST ISSUE of the day), I decided to run for office myself in my local district against our district 15 State Senator who happened to be, statistically speaking, the most liberal Republican Senator in the state. His voting record was so bad that it was worse than the majority of Democrats in the state.

We Shifted Our Focus
In order to continue in the battle, we created the Freedom Man PAC to fight back against liberal creep in our state. Unfortunately, I could not dedicate much energy to it since I focused on building my own business and my wife really focused on raising our kids who were still very small at the time (my oldest was 13 when we moved and my youngest was 5).We made lots of great friends and by God's grace we were prosperous in every way. We still loved Idaho and we loved what it had to offer as a place to live.
Then something outrageous happened…
Donald Trump Got Elected President
This was a pretty shocking moment in history. I did not expect anymore than anyone else. I was totally convinced Hillary would run away with it. But she didn't, thank God.Anyhow, I don't have to tell you that within short order, everything in America changed.

Ultimately, I ended up changing my business model to focus mostly on live events that we hosted monthly around the country. Additionally, my children were growing up and my daughters were now old enough to work with me professionally and accompany me on business trips.
Then Idaho Got "Discovered"
Around 2016, as people started making big shifts in their lives with Trump as the new President, people (particularly people from California), discovered that Idaho was a fabulous place to live. And they started moving here in droves.
- Boise is the least affordable housing market in the U.S.
- How Boise became the most overvalued housing market in America
- Boise is now the least affordable housing market in U.S., study says
I mean, we've got 900 square foot cottages being sold for $400,000. It's ridiculous! The truth be told is that keeping my kids in this type of environment is akin to consigning them to a perpetual lifelong curse. Imagine being 20 years old, newly married, and burdened with a $3,000/mo mortgage. Or worse, a one bedroom apartment that you will never own for $2,000/mo. Really? Really Idaho? I could not shake the feeling of discomfort for what I'd be doing to my children and grandchildren by cursing them with this type of culture, environment, and financial burden.
The Ultimate Final Nail in the Coffin - COVID
So while Idaho was still a "decent place to live," it was getting less and less livable by the day. My kids were all nearly grown up and we were feeling less comfortable with Idaho—though we still loved it and were proud to call Idaho home.
Idaho is Not God's Country Anymore
By mid-2020 it was clearly on display that Idaho was not God's country anymore. I mean, Idaho was featured in national news for some of the most blatant acts of tyranny in the history of our country, with our Constitution being violated at least 8 different ways, including a mother getting arrested for being at the park, and a Pastor being arrested while having the Bible forcefully stripped from his hands so he could be handcuffed and taken to prison. It's all on film. And Idahoan's didn't just permit it, they celebrated the cops who did so, cause you know, Republicans "back the blue."We even have proof, through documents obtained from a Freedom of Information Act request, that the local authorities conspired with the FBI's joint task force on domestic terrorism (no, I'm not joking) to storm into our own Easter service in April 2020, being held in the warehouse of our friend, Ammon Bundy, to arrest the "leaders" of the event. That would have been me and Ammon. I was the preacher preaching that day. Fortunately it didn't happen for reasons that would take too long to explain here…
But by this time, everything we once loved about Idaho was gone. All of its charm had disappeared.
- Idahoans in general were no longer friendly, they were hostile, especially if you refused to wear a mask or buy into the popular fake news narratives.
- The cost of living had skyrocketed to insane levels to the extent that nobody could afford to live here if they didn't bring in money from the outside.
- Boise was no longer green and clean, it was brown and unkempt.
- Idahoans showed their true hearts and proved themselves to not be conservative, but to be statist sheep, hostile to anyone who opposed the statist narrative.
- Idaho proved to be a red state (full of Republicans), but not a conservative one. In fact, we might be the number one RINO state in America.
- And although real crime is still virtually non-existent in Idaho, we probably have a disproportionately high number of "Karens" here.
- And I guess I should throw in the fact that while Idaho was a safe place to raise a family, it sure has proven to be a boring place, as well. Sure there's "outdoorsy" stuff, but I'm not a hunter and I don't like the snow. To each his own…
COVID Made Us All Rethink Our Priorities and Future
As a business man whose business was 80% live events, the COVID lockdowns completely decimated my business. And as a marketing consultant, the rest of my business tanked since other businesses likewise had no money or no interest in doing anything until lockdowns ended.Needless to say, 2020 was the most financially disastrous year of my life.

And in less than one generation, all the conservatives in Idaho will either be seeking to flee the state, or just live as disgruntled and oppressed societal paupers—much like the conservatives in Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington today.
After Much Research and Analysis We're Moving to Florida
Without getting into great detail, we chose Florida. Sure, there's lots about Florida that I don't like. For example, I don't like bugs or humidity and Florida is loaded with both.
The Benefits of Florida
Florida currently is arguably the freest state in the nation. And the trajectory of Florida's conservative culture is only getting stronger.
Come On Out to Florida With Us
One big thing that has changed since the great scam of 2020, is the recognition of the importance of community. When the proverbial caca hits the fan, do you really want to live amongst a bunch of compliant and hostile sheep, or do you want to be surrounded with freedom fighters? 2020 should have taught you and showed you how important THOSE AROUND YOU are to your quality of life. And let's not be ignorant or foolish. 2020 was only a sign of things to come.So yes, we're moving to Florida (my family is all here though I admittedly spend my time residing out of the country), and we invite you to move to Florida also. You will always have an open invitation to fellowship with our family. And it doesn't matter where you move to, since we're moving to central Florida (the Orlando metro area), so we'll be relatively close to you no matter where you live.

Things are not the same. 2020 changed everything. We know and recognize that we're safer and better in numbers, but 2020 taught us that it actually matters to be so, and not just to know so.
